Making an audio cd

Recommended Posts

Hi, I often make personal audio cd mixes for my car, and I was wondering, which burning software do you guys use most and why? I am currently using Nero and sometimes EasyCD Creator 5.

What's the best way to make the best sounding cds? Is it to uncompress them first into a wave file?

The burning isn't really the problem, especially not with Nero -> has some good audio burning features. I burn a 8x just to be safe.

It's the extraction of the audio that's crucial. Audio doesn't have control bits like normal data has so there's room for error when extracting.

I use cdex ( http://www.cdex.n3.net ) for extraction to wav and burn with nero. Well I really mostly burn vynil, but when copying a cd I do it right..

If you're obsessive use EAC for extraction but frankly it's a pain in the butt.

Here's a long read with all the ins and outs of audio burning:

Cdex and Nero are an excellant Team to use for audio cd's.I also agree that using a lower write speed as well as good media results in error free cd's.However I can't prove a damn bit of it other than it works well for me.
