Has anyone used the Firewire connection on the Soundblaster Audigy yet? If so, what did you think of it?

FWIW, my Firewire scanner connected to the Audigy works well.

I haven't used it yet, but I've heard that anything that draws large amounts of power from the port could cause problems with it.

So for things like DV it should work fine.

Which of the two ports will allow the highest power draw?

The PCI or the Audigy Drive! one?

I installed an Audigy for someone at work and the Firewire ports work fine. Even took out the existing stand-alone firewire card and moved it to another machine. As far as power draw goes, there's a mini drive power connector on the paddle-board card that the external LiveDrive connects to. (Don't know about the internal LiveDrive, maybe it has a power connector of its own?)
