Samsung Announces SSD & RAM Support For AMD EPYC 7002

Recommended Posts

AMD launched its second generation EPYC 7002 yesterday and the processors have already demonstrated their capabilities in the first review we completed leveraging a GIGBYTE server. The new CPUs have up to 64 “Zen 2” cores and deliver a comprehensive set of I/O, memory and security features as well as bring the support for Gen4 PCIe. On that last note, Samsung is announcing support for its new PCIe Gen 4-enabled PM1733 SSD. The PM1733 is said to have double the throughput capabilities of current Gen 3 SSDs, which would make it the highest performance SSD on the market. For performance the drive would be able to read sequentially at 8.0GB/s and randomly at 1500K IOPS.
