dlaloum 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2018 Hi Folks, Microsoft have formally stated that Windows 2016 ReFS V2 has a specific SMR Tier, designed so the OS / File System can intelligently work with the limitations of SMR drives... So far so good. But, I have been unable to find information as to what drives work with this... does this integrate well with "any" SMR drive, or does it require specific (host manageable ) drive models? Can it work with basic Drive Managed SMR drives (can it work effectively that is!) - such as the Seagate Archive series / Exos E5? Has anyone experimented with this, any experiences? (good or bad!?)
