Seagate Announces 64TB NVMe SSD & New Nytro SSDs At FMS

Data is exploding and it all has the potential to benefit companies so it must be stored so insight can be gained. Last year, Seagate announced a 60TB SAS SSD (though it doesn’t appear to be shipping in any volume of note). This year the company is demonstrating a 64TB NVMe SSD. The drive will be a FHHL AIC that has quoted speeds of 13GB/s. Using the M.2 form factor, Seagate was able to combine eight SSD controllers onto a single PCIe board. These eight controllers manage the flash capacity through a single PCIe slot.

For which, the 64TB? Nah, it's going to be much more, I'd guess $125k. These aren't client drive economics.
