NSA Hides Spying Backdoors into Hard Drive Firmware !

Recommended Posts

I don't think most Americans will have to worry about the NSA backdoor. Mainly because it is probably easier to the NSA to hack into systems manufacture's database of stuff they get from their in-house malware/adware(Superfish etc), get facebook or the app company to give up the nicely formatted information on usage (no one ever reads the TOS or fixes their privacy settings).

Between privacy and convenience, I will always choose convenience. Landlines weren't much better for security and even hard copies could be compromised since humans are not perfect and once they go through a digital copier, they will be stored on the internal HDD(which probably no IT department erases before getting rid of their old equipment).

I'll happily use one of these firmware-compromised HDDs over the cloud any day. The cloud concept is dangerous.
