LSI 9207-8i Firmware-Update

Recommended Posts

i want to update the firmware of my LSI 9207-8i HBA via the sas2flash.exe-tool on a windows7 system.

I have already checked "SAS2Flash Reference Guide" but some points are still unclear for me:

- i have to update the firmware AND the BIOS (sas2flsh -o -f <firmware> -b <bios>) ?

- have i first to erase the current firmware and BIOS before i performe the update (sas2flsh -o -e 1 or sas2flsh -o -e 6)?

Thanks in advance!

The sas2flash.exe program works pretty well. I've started to use that (and sas3flash for newer cards) for updating firmware on the LSI products.

My process usually goes:

1. (look for cards and make sure they are all in place. Also look at current versions) sas2flash -l

2. (update bios) sas2flash -b ***bios file here***

2. (update firmware) sas2flash -f ***firmware file here***

3. (check card that firmware and bios versions are newer) sas2flash -l
