can i run SSD on this computer ?

Hello guys iam new to the forum and i have a 3 questions


This is the computer i have




1- i was planning on upgrading my hard drive to an SSD one and get rid of the old one completley. so i was wondering if my motherboard can run SSD hard drive to its full potential


2- which SSD you guys recommand

3- do i need a SATA 2 or 3 cable for the motherboard i have

Sure you can. What's the budget and capacity need? Assuming you don't need a ton of performance but let us know your expectations.

max am willing to pay is $300 for a good one that will last me, capacity maybe 500-1T , i will take 500 over 1T for a better performance. since i usually transfer and download large files

$300 doesn't buy a 1TB SSD, but it does buy most 500GB SSD's. For optimal value, at least a day or so ago for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, the Intel 730 480GB was down to $200. Not sure what it is right now.

More typical SSD's to recommend to most users would be the Samsung 840 EVO 500GB or Crucial MX100 512GB, at least in my list.
