Tacoboy 1 Report post Posted April 28, 2014 I'm planning on replacing my 180GB (C300) SSD with a 256GB SSD drive. Currently the Sandisk Ultra plus 256GB is on sale for $110. Is the ultra Plus comparable performance wise with other 256GB SSDs?
Brian 157 Report post Posted April 28, 2014 The Ultra Plus is pretty pedestrian comparatively. Nothing wrong with it, but it's not in the top tier performance-wise. At that price point it's hard to argue, though the EVO might be worth the extra $20 depending on where you can find it these days. The EVO and m500 are routinely available for .45-.50/GB. continuum 18 Report post Posted May 5, 2014 And between the three, the 840 EVO has by far the best performance...
Tacoboy 1 Report post Posted May 27, 2014 Now thinking of holding out for the price to drop on the 500GB SSDs. As some 250GB SSDs are going for under $100 (on sale), i would assume some of the 500GBs SSDs would drop below $200.

Tacoboy 1 Report post Posted August 15, 2014 Now trying to decide between a M100 512GB ($193) and a Samsung 512GB EVO ($250). Wondering if the Samsung is worth the extra $57?
Brian 157 Report post Posted August 16, 2014 I'd say no for most use cases. You've waited long enough that you might even get another option next week Which sounds familiar...

Brian 157 Report post Posted August 18, 2014 If nothing else there may end up being more pricing pressure, which is great for consumers in your spot.
