HGST 4TB Deskstar NAS HDD Review Discussion

The HGST Deskstar NAS largely outperforms other NAS-specific hard drive offerings for the sub 8-bay NAS market. HGST has also endowed the drive with a few distinctive features such as a vibration sensor that some customers will find important for use in rack-mount scenarios that other NAS HDDs are excluded from.

I don't know if they're officially supported yet but I can't see why there would be a problem.

Thank you for the replies.

In general all manufacturers seems to steer clear of any HDDs branded "NAS", it's the same with LSI, even if they even updated their compatibility list just a week or so ago.

In any case, I am eyeballing the new Seagate Terascale 4TB disks. They seem very nice.

EDIT: Also pardon for the double post in the main section, I wasn't sure if the old review post were read :)
