SAN vs NAS vs ISCSI vs FC vs NFS vs CIFS

I'm new to the forum and also new to storage. I'm looking to see if you experts can clear some things up for me as google has provided a lot of details but none that seem useful.

My understanding is that iSCSI and FC/FCoE are block protocols and is used in a SAN, and that a SAN is essentially the network where the storage arrays connects with the switches. Am I correct here?

Also, my understanding is that a NAS is a network attached storage appliance, but NAS is also a protocol consisting of NFS and CiFS, so its not an appliance but rather a protocol?

Could someone explain this to me or better yet, explain pretty much SAN/NAS and then how iSCSI/FC/NFS/CFS plays a role. I'm so confused.

Thank you so much in advance. I know this is my first post but I don't know what else to read as they all don't paint a clear picture.
