video extender over ethernet

Recommended Posts

I've been working on a lot more IP video jobs lately. Some of these jobs are retrofit applications.

What I mean by that is that I'm taking out the analog cameras and putting IP video cameras. Most

of the time I am putting the new cameras onto the customer's current network, but some of the times the

cable runs are very long and there isn't a convenient point to connect into the customer's network.

I would like to find a good system for putting Ethernet over coax. It would also be nice to put the

power over coax. I have seen several different systems out there. They range from the simplest of

systems to some that even include a network switch. I was wondering if someone had the experience of

using any of these Ethernet over collect systems. Most of the jobs I'm doing are for professional

companies and am worried about using an off brand system. Any suggestions ???
