convert from AHCI to IDE?

6 posts in this topic

Hallo guys,

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and all my HDs are SATA and I want to convert them from AHCI to IDE (including and the one that carries the OS and is SSD). How I can do this procedure? If I do this will I have any problems with the files that I have already inside the HDs? Can I do this convertion also for my DVD-RW? Which will be the benefits for my DVD-RW from the AHCI?

Thank you in advance!

Why would you want to go away from AHCI... especially on an SSD?

I don't think your DVD drive will care either way. This is just a different form of talking to the drive, the files and filesystem don't change.
