Weird, usually pauses might indicated bad sectors, but nothing is reporting as either reallocated or pending...

Is this a drive you have purchased retail and possibly swap out to rule out any problems? I want to say we have some 1TB 7200.12's sitting in a Netgear NAS in the office. I will yank one from the thing (hopefully the RAID5 won't mind toooo much) and see what firmware it has and how it performs.

Well I checked our NAS and it has 6 7200.12s that are all CC46. Once I am done working on some of the review benchmarks this week I will test a few of those drives and see how they act over a few interfaces to see if I can narrow the problem down to this particular drive or maybe if the one you have has a defect.

Please, if you have Barracuda12-ALL-CC38.EXE (CC38 Firmware) Send it to my mail.

Hope... I can downgrade Firmware from CC49 to CC38.

Because CC38 is fastest!(I test CC38,CC46,CC49)

(Sorry for my bad english.)
