5 Ways to boost data security

So this made me chuckle a bit...only because I've seen it first hand. So sad.

Visiting a client, I once came across a sales guy who had his access credentials taped to the palm-rest of his laptop. Worse still, the company’s entire customer information database was synced to that laptop. If he lost it (or if it was stolen) you can only imagine the consequences.

He goes on to list several data security techniques...this is one of my favorites:

Don’t store documents on your local machine, save them to the designated place within your company network.

So obvious but often not followed...back up data people!

heh... if only I could. They allow us 2GB of network storage for data files.

My Development stuff takes 2x that alone. Say nothing about documents and email archives. I barely manage to fit critical documents in the alotted space.
