Anyone running their raptors in any of these configurations?

As we see here, we have some nice benchmarks, however they used a $300-$500 Areca (fastest card out there for SATA RAID).

I was wondering if anyone on this forum has done the following and could show an hdtach benchmark with the following types of setups:

1) Raptor 74 or 150GB x 4, RAID0 (Using on-board BIOS RAID, no special controller)

2) Raptor 74 or 150GB x 4, RAID 0+1 (Using on-board BIOS RAID, no special controller)

I've seen the results with the Areca, OK-- I agree it is great, but what about for people who run these type of RAID sets on the motherboard chipsets? What kind of performance do you see? Does anyone have any hdtach screenshots running in these modes? If so, which chipset are you using?

Thanks!

Justin.

Actually the 1220 isnt the fastest SATA card by any means. The new IOP341 ownes all of the older cards. I can post some benchmarks with Areca but I have given up on all onboard controllers forever. Quality just sucks compaired to Areca.
