320Gb disc only showing 232Gb

Recommended Posts

You're not running them in RAID, are you?

I didn't intend to. I connected one drive on SATA1, the other EZ_RAID1. These belong to different controllers.

How can I check? I can put different files on each drive. Or are they in RAID5?

It only shows as 232GB where-- in windows? In BIOS?

If it shows as the proper 320GB or whatever in BIOS, it's possible you just need to repartition and reformat it in Windows, that for whatever reason you just had it partitioned to only 232GiB,

If you're sure it's 320GB and a linux installer partition tool can format it to 320GB, then you need a more up-to-date MS os install media (service pack slipstream most likely), or, contact microsoft may help.

232 GiB = 250 GB

So it just looks like a real 250GB drive there...

Or your system somehow thinks your 320GB to be also 250GB just as your another drive is...

320 GB must show up 298 GiB.
