Maxtor MaxLine III 7V300F0 + Raidcore BC4852

Recommended Posts

I have a Raidcore BC4852 with 4x 250GB Seagate 7200.8 NCQ SATAII drives in raid 5. I plan to added another 4x SATA disks to the Raidcore BC4852 and right now my eye is on 4x 300GB Maxtor MaxLine III 7V300F0 SATA drives for a 2nd raid 5 array but was wondering if anyone has had problems with these Maxtor MaxLine III 7V300F0 on BC4852 and if the latest firmware v2.1.0 helps ?

thanks

I noticed a lot of problems with this disk. Only use it with a recent firmware (current is VA111900) or you might risk losing the disk from time to time (very annoying!).

go for the new Seagate 7200.10 320 GB. Its the same price as Maxtor. But I see lots of problem with maxtor disk. I have problems with 3 disc on my Promise 8350 Raid controller. They are not detected on start up. So I have to pull them out, when my machine is running.
