Cant boot from SATA RAID card

Recommended Posts

I just installed Windows 2003 server on 2 400GB hard drives. The installation went fine however when it went to reboot and run Windows it isnt finding the drives. I am using an Adaptec 12120SA which has a bootable ROM so that shouldnt be the problem. In the BIOS I have the first boot drive set to SCSI so it should find the card.

I checked on Adaptec's website to find out how to make the array bootable and it is setup correctly. Is there something I am missing because I really wanna get this server going.

Have you check the BIOS setup of your system ?

Make sure the Adaptec device is selected as the boot drive...

Besides that, I don't see what could be wrong...

Good luck & Merry Christmas..

I think it is set as the boot device. I have tried setting the boot device to SCSI, HDD-0 and both do the same thing which is nothing. Tomorrow I am going to call ECS and Adaptec to see what they think.
