  1. I'm planning to buy NAS Western Digital. I have a few questions: 1) Malware&Virus prevention: A situation where a PC which linked with NAS, and the PC infected by viruses, How NAS deal with this kind of situation? a)is there a feature auto cut the link from the PC immediately to makesure the data in NAS is safe? b)is NAS able to reverse a few days back if once NAS is infected? c)NAS WD - Anti-Virus Essential is free to install? 2)User Credentials: if a user not in use anymore (a staff left the company), but the data inside the user is important, a)how can we get all the data if we dont have the user's password? b)if we have the password, are we able to transfer all the data to another user? 3)Backup: a)is there any FREE backup feature can be done? b)if no, what is the best backup method for NAS WD? If you guys have another better solution, pls let me know. Thanks
  2. Between the 2 hard drives, what is the difference between the Western Digital Black series and the RE series? Obviously 1 is enterprise and 1 is meant for consumer. Say we were to take 2 drives: WD4000FYYZ (Enterprise RE drive) WD4003FZEX (Consumer based drive) What are the differences? Is the hardware the same? They are both 4tb drives with 5x 800 GB platters. The only difference that I see is that the Enterprise drive has TLER support. Is firmware the only difference then?
  3. I have 2 1 TB WD10JFCX 2.5" NasWare drives that were sent to me by mistake...and I cannot return them. So to utilize these drives, I'm looking for a NAS unit that supports them. Ideally I'd like something FROM Western Digital since their NAS's are designed to work optimally in their own NAS units due to the NASWare Technology. Can anyone help me find or know of a NAS that supports these drives? Thanks Gabe
