  1. Hello, For my company needs, we need a RAID 0 which can support high bandwith transfer for 4K video. I bought the following items to test if it was possible to do it without big costs: - Supermicro X9SRH-7TF - Intel E5-2620v2 - 16 GB RAM 1600MHZ - Western Digital Caviar Black 500GO 3.5" with Windows 8.1 x64 up-to-date as operating system - RAID Controller LSI 9271-8i - 4X Samsung 840 PRO 256GB Everything has been updated: - Motherboard - Windows 8.1 x64 - RAID Controller LSI 9271-8i (drivers + firmware) - SSDs (firmware trough Samsung SSD Magician) My problem is that I'm not a RAID expert at all and I don't know which parameters are the best... I read that Samsung 840 PRO were not the best SSDs for RAID on LSI controllers due to problems with these SSDs but it was corrected with lasts firmwares right? Currently, I use the following configuration: RAID 0 Virtual Volume including my 4 SSDs with the following settings: 64 KB Stripe (also for NTFS properties when formatting my partition) No Initalization (what is it by the way?) Write Through Direct I/O No Read Ahead Disk Cache is unavailable when configuring Virtual volume I have the following results in Crystal Mark: 1630 MB/s READ / 1500 MB/S WRITE And these results with our homemade application to test video bandwith on a disk: 1350 MB/S READ / 1180 MB/S WRITE Unfortunately 1180 MB/s is a little bit short and I wonder if there is a way to have better performances... - Are there better settings for RAID 0 with SSDs ? - Will it be better with 5 or 6 SSDs or is it useless ? Don't hesitate to ask me questions or further explanation if you need this to help me. As said before, I'm not an expert at all with RAID controllers especially with SSDs.. Regards, DeltaSM
