I have question regarding the SAN storage, when it goes offline.
My setup contains few vm's which is stored in SAN (Basically C Drive was using SAN).These vm's were all powered on, logged in and in some state. SAN went offline for few min's , that is, it has been crashed.
At this point of time , though I was not able to access my vm's , all of them were pingable. When datastore was up and running, all VM's were accessible.
Surprisingly, they were all in the same state as in before the datastore crash. I expected the vm's would also have been crashed when datastore went offline.
Can somebody explain, how this works and why dint the vm's using this storage dint crash
