  2. Seems to matter if you use Windows 7.Yes you can use Xp mode in 7 to use older versions of PGP,but it's somewhat of a hassle.Pgp9.1.0 works with 7 and is still free to use for the basic functions.
  3. Sorry it looks like the link went bad.Symantec has bought PGP Corp.
  4. Check out the link below http://searchsecurity.techtarget.com/news/article/0,289142,sid14_gci1511112,00.html Everything Symantec touches goes to Hell.

    Enough is Enough

    Just had to put it back up front.I wonder if all this still applies when the current National News Media are worse than we ever were.Two pages back 117 before.

    When did Eugene and company sell out?

    Poseur is a pejorative term, often used in the punk, heavy metal, hip hop and goth subcultures to describe a person who adopts the dress, speech, and/or mannerisms of a group or subculture, generally for attaining acceptability within the group, yet who is deemed to not share or understand the values or philosophy of the subculture. While this perceived inauthenticity is viewed with scorn and contempt by members of the subculture, the definition of the term and to whom it should be applied is subjective. While the term is most associated with the 1970s- and 1980s-era punk and hardcore subculture, English use of the term originates in the late 19th century.[1 Welcome to the new regime members but the change is sad in a sense.And no I did not read the post either.

    Gay soldiers - watch your back!

    My War was as a young Marine in the Nam ,and believe me when the stinker hit the fan it did not matter what your sexual preference was , but how well you could shoot.There were plenty of Gay Marines back then as there are now.We all knew who and what ,but what the happy fellow did it matter.We just wanted to do what needed doing and go home alive.I believe the General is a good Marine ,but on this topic he should have kept his mouth shut.
  8. At what point do we Google out.If we cease to find original answers to our questions and simply Google it instead, when do we run out of answers?Would not the only search results have to be questions and not answers at some point.
  9. Today's date 011010.OK I know there is a 2 in there ,but it's still geeky.

    God Mode

    I started to link ,but was not sure on the linking policy anymore.Then I went and made a ass of myself when the post was moved to where it should have been.Anyway I thought the info was worthy of SR folks.
  12. Have you run out of things to do then try the below.It's from Cnet By creating a new folder in Windows 7 and renaming it with a certain text string at the end, users are able to have a single place to do everything from changing the look of the mouse pointer to making a new hard-drive partition. The trick is also said to work in Windows Vista, although some are warning that although it works fine in 32-bit versions of Vista, it can cause 64-bit versions of that operating system to crash. To enter "GodMode," one need only create a new folder and then rename the folder to the following: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

    Bootmgr is missing

    how many harddrives were connected when you did the install.on some motherboards with more than one harddrive Vista and 7 will put the boot manager on a non boot drive.when you boot the system windows cannot find the manager.the solution is to disconnect all harddrives but the install drive.after install reconnect.This may or may not be your issue.
  14. Been flashing Asus boards with flash drive for awhile now and it works great.Alt F2 and the job is mostly done.One note I would use the USB ports hardwired to the board.Have had some case ports that would not work for this purpose.

    Switching to Windows7

    I now have an Hitachi 320GB SATA 2 drive and a 160GB Hitachi SATA backup drive. I have AHCI disabled in the BIOS. My MB is a Gigabyte EX38-DS4. I don't have any problem using Vista Ultimate 64-bit with my drives, so I don't see why there should be any issue in Windows 7. I ordered 2 Samsung F3 500GB drives and plan to install Windows 7 on one and use the other for backing up. I also have a Pioneer DVD RW SATA drive. My CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400. Video card is an ECS 9600GT and sound card is an Asus Xonar DX. I have decided on going for Windows Home Premium Full Retail version and doing a clean install. My only complaint about Vista is S-P-E-E-D. ;-) I am getting older and speed is more important now. Oh, I don't know about adding that driver you mentioned after installation. I was trying to figure that one out now and explored the MB disk but couldn't find the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. I meant load the driver at install in case you want to enable ACHI.The drivers are easy to find on the Intel site if they are even needed.I know what you mean by lot older.I think you will enjoy the speed of 7 with your current setup.
