  11. I got PMs saying that there are head-reset "chirping" sounds and that auto detection by motherboard BIOS no longer works "properly" (HDD has be re-detected every single time during POST) with the new firmware.
  12. I have been told that this patch seems to have certain problems/bugs, so people who don't have a listed model manufactured in the specified time period are likely to be better off without it.

  14. Samsung has released a new firmware patch. I don't know whether this will help those who are having noise-related problems with their HDDs, though, since the release note doesn't explicitly mention as such.
