    Seagate 7200.10 Review

When the heck is this place going to have a formal review of this drive?? There are only TWO contenders for 320 gig 16 meg consumer drives on the market. It's been half a year since this came out

Remove the cheapy pin jumper from the back andit's set to SATA2. ya it's cheap, looks like someone snipped it from some paper carton or something As for the humming, I am not sure. I do know if I put my ear very very close to the hd it is barely audible. I think my drive is fine.

This is my drive's sound, with a headphone mic literally on the hd itself while it's running hdtach, with all fans (other than PSU) off. http://www.mytempdir.com/1075731 I am very surprised Seagate's quality control has gone to hell for some drives. This is my very first time I've gone Seagate.

    Seagate 7200.10 Review

I looked at the drivers in my city for 3 retailers. Either it was: 1)Made in Singapore with no sticker on motor 2)Made in China with no sticker All were 'E' versions. Mine is #1 and has no bad motor sound. I can still hear the seeks, but that's normal for this model. #1 is better country of origin I would think

This drive has VERY loud seek sounds. I think the last time I heard something this loud was about 10 years ago with a samsung hd..

I got mine just yesterday and it's MIS with 3AAE. The motor is the one without the sticker. It seems ok though.

Is there any way to upgrade the firmware from 3-AAC to 3-AAD on the user's end?

    What's wrong? My 20" monitor "clicks/flashes"

BTW: pressing the power switch on the monitor doesnt turn off the monitor completely. If it is still plugged it, then it's still on - thus a fire hazard.

Laptop CPU's: easy to upgrade or not?

One word: BIOS. You need bios support for the newer cpu's - and you can bet the manufacturer wont release a new bios just because your decided to upgrade your notebook's cpu yourself When you buy a notebook, you play according to their rules, since they designed the motherboard, and just about everythign else. Have fun

Pls help me or my boss will fire me.

Isnt there a way to put sealing tape on the case itself, and sign your signature there so that if the seal is broken or replaced, you would know?
  13. If u went thru paypal, then complain to paypal, they will actually support the buyer sometimes, and can step in to take money from the bank account or even cc of the seller. But amount is so small, Im not convinced they will do anything. Check ou the links for help http://www.ebayexodus.com/ and http://www.paypalwarning.com/ U might get some pointers on what to do about your situation. Good luck, and dont get worked up over a few dollars

    Nforce2 + Non-XP Tbird

The A7N8X has 2 probes, one probe reads from cpu other is a sep probe underneath the cpu, that's from what I understand. ASUS' techs seem confused, but for sure there are 2 probes. You need not worry. And I think the A7N8X does the non-xp's too, u best check to be sure though
