    Always get a 2nd opinion, if there is any doubt

    My point in replying was not that he should strictly adhere to the topic. It was that he put me in a position where I could not respond to his attack in kind without appearing to be a completely insensitive cad in view of his mother's illness. Despite what many here may think I do have a conscience. Neither you nor I can know whether anyone here ever really changes anyone else's opinion about a particular topic. If I were truly "trashing the boards" I would have been banned long ago. For some reason the admins haven't seen fit to give me the boot. Are you suggesting that I should keep my opinions to myself because they upset people? How intellectually honest is that? If the audience here is disinterested (as you say) in matters such as the war on terror, Iraq, or the threat of radical Islam then I'm glad if I've at least interested them enough to be upset. If they don't pay attention that can't get that way.

    I think it's unfortunate if udaman leaves and I certainly do not want him or you to leave. I was not happy or pleased in any way that BHH left - I wish he'd come back - I'd gladly welcome him home. I bent over backwards not to respond in kind to BHH's last posts regarding me because I did not want him to leave. But you cannot attack a fellow member in a thead the way that udaman has done here and not expect the attacked member to respond. BHH did the same sort of thing. If you can't take it - don't dish it out. I have strong opinions which frequently conflict with the viewpoints of others here. If expressing those opinions here is "shitting" on threads then so be it - I will continue to do so.

    Oh I'm sorry... apparently his loved one's life depends on his haircut? Of course how silly of me. No wonder Udaman gets a second opinion on how to get his hair cut! My apologies Udaman. "Always get a 2nd opinion, if there is any doubt, your life or loved 1's depends on it"

    Great news for Kerry!

    Well after last night we now know that both the insurgents and Kerry agree that invading Iraq was a mistake. The only difference is that the insurgents want the troops out now but Kerry wants to leave the troops there for up to four years to continue dying for a "mistake"... hey... that sound last bit sounds familiar... where have I heard that before?

    Udaman, You use a thread about your mother's tragic illness to attack a fellow member? You're a class act pal.

    Great news for Kerry!

    Great news for Kerry - 35 kids were killed in Iraq today by the "insurgents". No doubt there are high fives going around at Kerry's campaign headquarters. Those "insurgents" sure have a great sense of timing! Coincidence? I think not! Kerry can and will use this in the debate tonight. His spokes people have already begun to use these dead children to their advantage all over cable news programs today. Iranian Citizens Trash Fahrenheit 911

    I don't know how representative the reactions highlighted above are of the Iranian people as a whole. But at least one thing is certain - You can't fool all of the people all of the time in Iran any "moore" than you can here in America. Original article here

    Kerry treason?

    Here's a link to an article from the New York Times dated July 23, 1971 which describes an event at which Kerry used the families of the POWs. He is advocating here once again for the North Vietnamese position in the peace talks. Sorry - Large image scan

    Kerry treason?

    It is a common misconception that Kerry met with "both sides" while Paris. It comes from a rather artful statement he made before the Senate in '71. Here is what he said; See what I mean? But don't feel bad - the New York Times made the same mistake just this morning in a story by Jodi Wilgoren;

    Kerry treason?

    Oh really? Here's the problem with your statement above - Kerry's trip to Paris with the VVAW delegation in 1970 did not include any talks with the U.S. delegation at the Peace talks. He spoke only with the North Vietnamese and VC contingents. And as you have correctly pointed out - one cannot negotiate peace between via speaking with only one side of a given dispute. There then is your "proof" that he was not in Paris to further the cause of Peace. So what was he doing there? He claims he was there to discuss the release of the POWs. History shows that he put into action what he learned in his talks with the North Vietnamese by carrying their water for them when he returned home. He put great energy into trying to get the families of the POWs here in the U.S. to speak out against the war. At this he failed and many of the families took great offense to his attempt to use them in this fashion. Then there is the matter of his testimony before Congress. He essentially advocated that we accept the North Vietnamese plan to end the war. Read his testimony some time - particularly that which was given behind closed doors - it's all readily available online. Private U.S. citizens are prohibited by federal law from negotiating with foreign powers - a fact which Kerry himself acknowledged in his congressional testimony. Kerry had no authority to negotiate on behalf of anyone when he went to Paris. This was hardly comparable to General MacArthur, who did have the necessary authority speaking with the Japanese in WWII. I don't doubt that he meant well in much of what he did back then - even though his chief motivation seems to have been to advance his own career. But the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I have concluded that Kerry's actions back then may have very well constitute treason. They certainly gave aid and comfort to the enemy - they even won his photo a place of honor in the War Crimes museum in post war Vietnam. As for your complaint regarding my sources - nice try but give it up. The source of the material presented is entirely irrelevant. BTW - Your boy Kerry mentioned his Vietnam experience once again today in a speach relating it to the situation with Iraq. He certainly seems to think that what he did back then is relevant even if you don't.
