  1. That's old news and allready seen the real speeds on a 66-100 and 133 Cards. Also Chipset manufacturers have implemented ATA133, so your statement about "ATA133 is not usefull" is false. So explain to me how come i noticed speeds in overroll even when i compared it to a ATA66-100 ? and i dont think you even used this things your self to say it sucks, and i have used/have Western Digital drives and i also have them for other stuff. Really? What are you compare with! I can't feel any difference between the 2 Maxtors ATA133 80GB and the 2 IBM 60GXP 40GB on my P-IV 2.53GHz/ABIT IT7-Max machine! It's a shame that the Maxtor ATA133 got beat by the less expensive IBMs! If you want more proof just read the test report right here in SR! Where are the advance of Maxtor ATA133 over WD JB Series? Nothing except the Gimmick adverting IMHO! I don't know about you but,I'll take Western Digital's JB Series over Any Mator any time any day  I've got nothing againt Maxtor But my Money better spend else where 8)
  2. No, Maxtor ATA133 Is a big joke! Look around...No one or no other brands will do that kind of gimmick! Look at the test for yourself, right here in SR and you will see the true color
  3. Well,I wouldn't buy anymore Maxtor's! Don't care how good or how fast If I only get 1 Year Warranty.

    ...Martians, What??? :?:
  5. Hi, Yuyo Have you try www.newegg.com ?
  6. Thank you, Occupant 2, Future Shock for your feedbacks. You're both have got your points and I appreciated very much for taking time to point out the good and bad about this board. I agreed that ABITs got some quations about their build quality compare to Intel or ASUS. But,is there any other board out there right now that come with 4 extra ATA-100 IDE Slots? :?: I'm willing to listen. I can only found this, the IT7-Max that have what I think will help since it got 4 extra IDE Raid on board plus 2 standard IDEs! That would take up to 10 HDD plus another IDE 1 2 Chanels for CD-RW and DVD Rom/DVD-RW. 8) I do not like add-on IDE Controlers so if I don't have to use them that will be my preference. Again, if I have to and do not have any other choice then I'll look into that matter. I was going to order the IT7-Max from newegg.com today but I'd like to hear alittle more from the users if this board will be a wise choice :?: No,I'm not gonna OC it just want to build a media center for all the DVDs ripping,Movies,Music,Family photos-Video,Karaoke,LP/Singles collections from 60'70'80' etc etc. Any other IT7-Max's user ? Please post your commend. :?: Regards, Lexu8
  7. Hello,Everyone I'm thinking about put together a P-IV's system with This ABIT IT7-Max Motherboard. Can anyone tell me if this is good choice or ? :?: I'm planing to run about 1TB+ HDD (Just IDE not Raid) so I thought this may be the board I need. I don't know much about ABIT so Please commend. Anyone out there using it right now? is it good? Bad? or OK? 8) Looking forward to hear any commends from all. Please Help. Regards, Lexu8
  8. Future Shock, Thank you so much for the tip. That what I'd like to hear, the ABIT IT7-Max is good and stable! So if you do not have any problems with it and it seems the build quality is high,I'd like to try it out. I like the idea that ABITs offer so much for so little compare to ASUSs,the only Motherboard I know off that offer 4 extra IDE Raid slots. As of now I do not plan to do the RAID set up just to get a rock solid stable for my 4 WD1200BB, 4 WD1200JB, 1 WD800JB and 1 IBM 120GXP 80GB. Just about 1TB+ after formatted. 8) Is there any others that using the ABIT IT7s out there that have Good or Bad time with this board? Please Help! If it all sound good then I'll order one tomorrow or next day. Regards, Lexu8 Ps, as for the new IT7-Max2... That's a very nice board indeed but it lack of 4 extra IDE Raid connectors so that won't fit my needs.
  9. Occupant, Thank you for the note. What kind of problem(s) with ABITs? How does ABITs compare to, Say.. ASUS or Intel ? I saw the puctures of it and look very promissing with 4 extra ATA-100 slots, total of 6 slots :!: I thought it might be a good choice to hook-up lots of HDDs without have to buy ad-on IDE card. But as I mentions,I do not know much about ABITs. By the way, I've got a 2.4GHz/533 P-IV B that I was going to use with the ABIT IT7-Max! Now I'm not so sure If I'm gonna buy the IT7-Max after all. That is why I'm asking for some feed back from the IT7-Max's users if this is a good board or No? :?: Regards, Lexu8

    best case?

I'm using both Entec Plus 1080s and Lian-Li PC70s! Both are good,Entec came with True Power 430 Watts PSU and it absolutely quiet But The 2 Fans that came with the case are not. So I installed 5 Adjustable Enermax fans( 3 in the front and 2 rear) Running them at around 2000RPM. All these only cost less than $150.00  On the other hand, Lian-Li PC70 Cost about 2 times more. PC-70 FOR $205.00, Enermax 450 Watts PSU - $79.00, 2X 80mm Enermax $8.00 each and 120mm - $14.00 ( PC-70 Came with 2 adjustable speed in the front) the total of $314.00 8O Can't say if it run any cooler than the Entec Plus 1080 Because all of my computers are running cool. So I recommending the Entec Plus 1080. 8)
  11. NFS4, Did you receive your drive back from WDC? Is it New with 8MB Cache? WD800JB or WD1000JB? The reason I'm asking is that I've got a Whining 1200JB and it started to making louder whining sound about a week ago and If I should RMAs my WD1200JB Right now or wait untill something happen :?: It seems louder and louder every day  I hope WDC won't send "Used Serviceable" like IBM.

    Yamaha vs. Plextor..............

You go, Sivar ... I agree with you 1000% Not every boby think the same way and will buy the same brand. One may want a better quality and will pay more. If one want a cheap and lower quality products then buy the "CHEAP" product. Lite-On sold more but it doesn't mean it better. Ford Escort Sold more but that doesn't meat it better than Porsche  I wonder why peoples paid $95k for Mercedes Benz when a Kia only cost $7k and will take you from point A to point B :?: That's why we have quation like " Yamaha VS. Plextor" :!: I didn't see he's asking about Lite-On. May be he doesn't even interesting :?:

    Yamaha vs. Plextor..............

It's not the Speed or coaster that what I'm talking about,Heck I bought one myself just about 2 weeks ago! Yes it's cheap! It burned 700MB CDRs in just a little ver 3 minutes! Very impressive indeed! 8O But, What good is it if you can't read back from what you just burned :?: I spend a lot of time and lots of blank CDs trying to back up DATA only found out a week later that My new "Lite On LTR-48125W " Can't even read it own burned CDs  Yes,that what I did, bought a Lite-on LTR-48125W over others because it's"Cheap" and from lots and lots of people claims that this is the best of the world! Not so! I did save Money But I'm spending alot more time backing up my DATA on my 2 years old 8X Plextor. After all the excitement with my new Lite-On burning so fast with No coaster! Most not all CDRs that my new Lite-On burned can not be read by any player not even Lite-On LTR-48125W after it burned  My advice, buy the real thing! "QUALITY" not Just "Cheap" and Fast! Anyone want to buy My 2 weeks Old "Lite-On-It LTR-48125W"? Oh,it's a full retail package too! You'll have alot of "Unreadable" CDs after you burned if you buy my Lite-On
  21. lexu8

    Yamaha vs. Plextor..............

honold? You're right about one thing,Lite-On burn CDRs faster and cheaper But what good is it if you can't even read from it? Lite-On burned alot of errors more so than anything, any brand name  Build Quality? Well that's part of Lite-On! Anyone want to buy My 2 weeks Old Lite-On LTR-48125W  I guess you get what you paid for,and I've got "JUNK" The quation is, Plextor vs. Yamaha ? :?: I think I'll replace My Brand New 2 Weeks Old "Lite-On-It" with Yamaha F-1 for now untill Plextor can come up with something better

  24. Just Bought 4 WD800JBs Fron Newegg.com Last week in Hope for a super high Performance but,Why they're so slow even on Raid 0 Set up?? Tried with all difference blocks side and firmwares. My Old,Last Raid were Promise Tx2 RAID 0+1 Set up with 4 40 GB IBM 60GXP On ASUS TUSL2/ 1011 Bios,P-III 1.26GHz/512Cache/512MB Muskin Ref.2,Windows XP Pro. etc. Everything was working well and fast,No Problems what so ever! Untill I heard and read about some not too good news on IBMs so I thought it time to get a newer, better and faster HDs! To my surprise, they're not what I expected! These HDs are so slow and much, much slower that standard IDE none RAID IBM HDs! What's going on ? Or ? Please Help! Should I just go back to IBMs and return these High Performance WD800JBs??? This is my first post on SR and hope to get some good advices and tips! Please Help! Lexu8
