    Fusion Hdtv3 Gold

I just got the card, and installed it a little while ago. I'm just under 10 miles from the ESB, and am using a Silver Sensor indoor antenna. Some quick observations: If I run it in DxVA mode with the Catalyst 4.2 drivers, I get spontaneous reboots, but it runs fine in software mode. With the Silver Sensor, I pick up CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, 2 PBSs (1 does HD, and the other has 4 digital sub-channels), and Telefutura. I only get 20-25% signal on the WB and nothing on Univision. The analog tuner seems slightly better than my AIW, but not as good as using my VCR's tuner. Doing a search for QAM stations from cable, it finds a few, but it won't let me tune to them. I know that there are some unencrypted QAM stations on my cable system. More later...

I actually ordered one yesterday. On my XP1700 @ 2GHz with a AIW8500, the demos took 25-30% CPU utilization in DxVA mode, which is acceptable to me. They're supposed to start shipping tomorrow, so I'll let you know what I think of it when it arrives.

    Incorrect Wep Key

I got the same wireless adapter for my parents' laptop (running WinXP Home), and I've only been able to get it to work with their router when SSID broadcasting is turned on. If SSID broadcasting is turned off, it'll only work until the laptop is turned off or put in hibernate, then it won't be able to connect to the network. I wasn't sure if it was the adapter of the router, but now I'm thinking it's the adapter.

    Beagle 2

No one knows if there was or wasn't a major design flaw. What if it was the inability of Beagle 2 to do any course corrections once it was separated from Mars Express? If it was at slight the wrong tragectory, or wasn't spinning at the right rotation, they would have no way to correct it. That's something that can be easily fixed and still keep the weight under 100kg.

The best game you can name...

I would've liked to, but it didn't air in the states.

    Winter Has Arrived

Don't remind me. That sucks badly enough in July or August. I'm really pissed off that it has to be that hot in November. Thankfully it was only a few days of that crap and we had more seasonable temperatures today. Something really needs to be done about global warming. I remember 30 years ago it would go into the 20s and 30s by November and pretty much stay there. A 50° day was a rarity, let alone an 80° one. Let it snow please. The average daily temperature for NYC in November disagrees with you. On Nov. 1, the average high is 59, low is 45. On Nov. 30, the average high is 49, low is 37. And I wouldn't call 80 being hot, especially not in July or August. It's actually a comfortable room temperature for me.

    The Curse

As much as I'd like to see the Yankees lose, it's not over yet. Just ask Boston.

Try here. They have the original Apple II version, which you can run through an emulator (which they also have). I wasted so many hours playing that.
  10. Was the size of the drive it's replacing a 4.3GB drive?

    SR's D2OL Metacomputing Team

Yep, that does it. And you can monitor it remotely, which is what I was hoping for. Thanks, C.

Is there any way to monitor it, if you use FireDaemon to run it as a service?

    Advice on Flat Panel TV

Since the LCDs with a built-in tuner are overpriced, what about a regular LCD monitor with one of these or these.

    Best Hard Drive Reliability?

I agree, the times I've ordered drives from them, they did a very good job. I haven't been satisfied with the way Newegg has shipped drives to me - just some bubble wrap and peanuts, loosely in a box. And of course, Hypermicro does an excellent job.

    Winter Has Arrived

Today's weather was almost perfect. About 80°F, with little humidity, and no clouds in the sky. I had to go to South Jersey today, so I got to take a nice relaxing drive with the top down. It could have been a little warmer, but for mid-September, I won't complain.
