  1. Anyone knows if I would be getting problems/alerts for putting in Non Dell branded drives into Dell PowerVault MD1220? I plan to use the Dell MD1220 enclosure as the JBOD enclosure. But from several forums I read, this will work, but Dell OpenManage software will keep throwing alerts that the drives are non-certified or something like that. Let say I use standard generic LSI/Adaptec RAID controller instead of Dell PERC card, would this be good to work around this and would Dell OpenManage work with generic LSI card? Appreciate all feedback.
  2. Anyone can recommend a good real RAID card SAS 12G that can set the alarm off upon failure detection? I have a server in RAID 10 and it is in the same room with me. So I need a RAID card that can alarm/make a noise when it detects drive failure, SMART failure, and even failure in the card itself. Thanks,
  3. I have a Disk Array that I set it up as a JBOD (12x 4TB). I connected the array to the host via Adaptec RAID storage controller. When I was configuring the array at BIOS level, I did Low Level Format to one of the drives out of curiosity. When the system is still formatting the drives, there was a blinking red at the screen Not to cancel the format is still in progress. It was still at 1% progress, so I cancelled it anyway since there is nothing wrong with the drive. However, after I cancelled it, the disk is recognized by the system, but it was greyed out and the capacity then reported as 0kB and it seems like there is nothing I could do with it. Anyone can help how to restore the drive to the working state? Thank you.
  4. Hi, I have LSI Syncro CS 9271-8i installed and I found small issue here: I created a Node A and it has a shared Virtual Disk (VD). Now, when Node A reboots, the VD is being transferred to peer Node B and the VD will stay in Node B - no matter node A is up or not. Is this normal?
