  1. I received the new RAM and a new LSI 9271-8i. Installed both and powered up. The new 9271 immediately showed up in POST. So the original "open box" 9260 was indeed DOA. It cost me 3x more but in the end it's a more up to date controller and it works. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  2. Ok. Well I'm waiting for my new RAM to be delivered. As soon as I get it I'll take a look and see if I can find it in BIOS. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  3. Ok. Pardon my ignorance but I don't know what INT13 is. What I've done is completely disabled the internal SATA/RAID controller (my boot drive is an M.2 PCIe 3 SSD) and I still don't see the card. I've tried it in 4 different systems. 3 Intel and 1 AMD. Nothing.... I don't want to boot from it, I just want to use it for media storage. So I was hoping it would just show up as an unknown device in device manager and I would load the driver and be done with it... Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  4. I'm going to do that in the morning... I'm also going to try a different card in the new motherboard because I'm suspicious that the power bus may have died on it.I will follow up as soon as I have more info. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  5. Hello all! I'm new here and this is my first post. I've been searching for a possible reason why this RAID controller I purchased isn't showing up in the new server I'm building. Its a pretty straight forward setup. Supermicro X11SSH-LN4F motherboard with Xeon E3-1230v5 and 64GB RAM. Samsung 950 PRO M.2 SSD boot drive and eight 6TB WD Red hard disks. I originally purchased this motherboard because it supports 8 drives in RAID. I quickly found out that in RAID5 the Intel PCH crumbles. Write throughput sits around 25 Mbps max. So That's why I've turned to hardware RAID. Plus I would like to use RAID6. Anyway, I've tried changing to slot from LEGACY to EFI. I've tried both slots capable of PCIe 8x. Nothing... Nothing in POST. Nothing in BIOS. In fact BIOS reports the slot empty. So aside from a dead card, is there anything else that would cause this? Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
