    2 Raptors In Raid 0 Winbench 99

Thx for your reply but that's one hella good score! I wonder if you guys are comparing different Raptors? 36GB as compared to 72GB? I'm 2X36gig. Wait a minute! He is showing only up to 35 gig! Very strange...He probably did only up to 35gig and then we are not far apart.

    2 Raptors In Raid 0 Winbench 99

You can install OS anytime, 1 hour of work. So it's not that risky though Problem is when you store important "data" in raid 0. So Raid0=too risky for data, not OS.

What raid card are you using? My two raptors are behind yours. Mine starts at 100 and ends with 75.

    Raptor question

Mine starts at 105mb. I have Highpoint controller.
  6. Below (Look At Me!) is 3XWD800JB with raid 0. I now have 2Xraptors raid 0 with Highpoint raid controller although if I had 3ware or promise, I bet my drives can get faster. My 2 raptors raid 0 is a little less faster than below(Look At Me!). My game loads the first every time it loads in multimedia game. Now, you think you want to get your first system for gaming. For reference, here goes my rig: Asus P4T533, P4 2.53@2.85, 2XSamsung 256 RDRAMs(533@600FSB-4.0Gig bandwidth). 2Xraptors with raid 0 for boot, games and applications, 1XWD2000JB for backup and data, ATI AIW 9700 Pro, SB Audigy, Lian Li Aluminum BOX, Antec True 550Watt PSU, etc.

    Installing Xp on a raptor

Look at mine. It's neat, isn't it?

Is the Raptor a good choice?

This is what I have(raid0 with Highpoint sata controller(HPT 372A controller): I don't understand why I don't have a better performance at the beginning.
  9. ATI has a better 2D and even 3D than Nvidia. For 2D, ATI and Matrox are the way to go. If you want both 3D and 2D (meaning both quality and speed), ATI is the answer. I have a Sony trinitron crt E540 and it's great. 1. What ATI card do you have? 2. What default standard resolution do you run at? 3. What are your sources? 1. I have AIW Radeon 9700 Pro. 2. I run at 1600X1200 @32 bit. 3. ??

    Absolute Cheapest Storage

The cheapest would be used ones. WD AAs or Samsung 5400s or whatever will be very similar (not much different from) to the newest 7200s.
  12. He's got problem with data drive. He can boot normally with his 80 gig boot drive. Can you use recovery console for other drive rather than boot drive? I just wonder. Does anyone know about that?
