I've got a weird situaction with my new ssd plextor m5 pro 128 Gb. It is working with P5N-D mobo with only sata2 without AHCI but it probably makes no big difference. When my fresh ubuntu (13.10) or fresh windows (8.1) lauch first time (morning) transfer rate is 140 MB/s but when i reset (reload) system i've got 270 MB/s - and its remaining all the time until next morning or next PC sesion. What to do to have this normal 270 MB/s transfer at first lauch ?

If you're not running in AHCI mode, then TRIM isn't working.  This can cause poor performance until the built in garbage collection can take care of the mess.  It does make a big difference :-)

TRIM does not require AHCI
