Looking for advice on which drive to purchase: Samsung EVO 250GB or Sandisk Extreme II 240GB? It appears that both drives get good reviews, but I can't decide which one will be the better option. I plan to upgrade the hard drive in my Lenovo laptop with it. Any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I lean toward the EVO simply because of the in-house components and software. It probably runs a little cheaper too which is nice. That said, there's nothing wrong with the SanDisk.

Depending on who you talk to, the Sandisk Extreme II might be the fastest consumer-targeted SSD around.

That said it's brand-new, even newer than the Samsung 840 EVO... neither has been around much to see if we have any hidden bugs in the firmware.

Vs Plextor M5P Xtreme 256Gb

$224 on Amazon.

Top 5 SSD. Incredibly fast. I currently use this drive and have been very impressed. On average, I get about 450mb access speed.
