Icy Dock has added USB 3.0 to their popular 3-in-2 HDD adaptor for desktops.

It looks like a good product, and the review was quite helpful. My main criticism is that the reviewer should have discussed the trayless mechanism in greater detail: i.e. quality, security of the latches and power switches, any vibrations during use, etc. Other small details like whether there are working drive activity lights, and how the USB3 ports connect to the motherboard (i.e. header or just extension cables) would be good to know.

Fair feedback. We've reviewed ID products for so long that we've covered much of this in prior reviews. USB is via extension cables to the mobo and the bays are very solid, we greatly prefer this method to trays, as we swap drives quite a bit ;) You'll notice ID is the only accessory maker we cover for products like this, it's because they're well made.
