The InfiniBand Trade Association (IBTA) today announced Release 1.3 of its InfiniBand Architecture Specification Volume 2, introducing data transfer speeds of 56Gb/s and 168Gb/s as well as enhancements to device, switch, and cable interoperability. InfiniBand is a low-latency, high-bandwidth interconnect solution with low processing overhead that facilitates carrying clustering, communications, storage, management traffic over a single connection.
