Hope I am posting this in correct spot!
Asking for advice/methodology on updating twin Crucial M4's ver 0009 to 0309 to avoid 5184 bug issue.
I have 2 - M4 ssd's 128Gb for o/s, wanting to Raid0 them, with 2Tb HDD for files.
System is now built, getting ready to start updates, software install etc., but a couple tasks need to be completed first, and I would appreciate suggestions/advice from the forum participants.
This is the tasks, in the sequence I figured would be easiest.
1 Mobo bios update (Asus p8z68 V pro gen3 with i7 2700K, 2x8Gb Crucial Ballistics)
2 Firmware update on the SSD's
3 Raid0 the SSD's
4 Install o/s and programs/games on SSD's
5 oc the cpu/gpu(radeon 7950)/ram
Would it be easier to install win 7 64bit on the HDD, do raid/updates etc then reinstall o/s on raid array? (migrating from HDD is optional, but less desired)
Or should I do the steps as outlined above? I understand it is acceptable to do ssd's firmare update after completed os install, but after discussion with techy guru bud of mine, he said I may have to backuop and reinstall if issues.
Anyone?
Thanks for your time and inputs!
