ok last question for today hehe,

i dunno why but my 2100s is reported as a 2000s in the device manager. i tried to manually select the 2100s but it didnt appear as a choice.

maybe this is normal but im trying everying to make that POS 2100s perform at least to the level of one drive not in raid

cheers

It won't happen.

I ended up giving up on the thing and using it just as a SCSI controller, since I'd already allocated the 19160 I had previously to one of my other machines. The 2100s worked ok with JBOD and a few of the drives in a software stripe set under windows 2000.

If you haven't had it very long, return it and buy a Mylex AcceleRAID 170.. it's a much faster controller, a lot more RAID levels, and it actually gives you some speed.

i can't believe how sh*t it is, my old 29160 smokes it performance wise, and thats not even in raid config. i think the raid-0 on my old abit Vp6 was also faster
