Dell are offering SSDs from S-Tec, I'm having trouble finding information on them.
According to their website they're using MLC and have their own controller technology. I wonder how they do with random writes, performance degradation over time, etc.. all the stuff Anand puts the OCZ and Intel drives through the ringer on.

Anybody have experience with these? I've never heard of an enterprise class SSD using MLC. They seem relatively cheap, I don't have exact pricing but I know that the 50gb is less expensive than the 300gb 15k SAS drives.

No idea. They could be pretty awesome on the enterprise end...

Their desktop products (Mach8) don't look that great-- they show only 100/80MB read/write or 100/100MB... that doesn't disclose random 4K block performance either-- that is really what makes or breaks 'em.

Their Mac4 Compactflash card looks pretty decent, almost as good as Sandisk's Extreme Pro, Transcend's 600X, or PhotoFast GMonster 533X Plus... but those come up to 64GB.

The "Pliant" drives that just got announced look interesting too. But all they have are specs and information about the venture capital they've drummed up, so far. . .
