Well, seems in the rather exhaustive geizhals price-comparison index, the first companies started listing a 1TB Samsung drive.
The number is HD102UJ, the name being F1.
It is listed as not on stock (obviously), but by rather reputable webshops.
Anybody heard anything about an upcoming announcement on the side of samsung?

Any specs known yet?
Not all-official information but gathered from here and there:
F1 series:
HD102UJ = 1.0TB = 4x250 platters, 16MB cache, SATA300
HD752LJ = 750GB = 3x250 platters, 16MB cache, SATA300
S250 series, already listed on Samsungs's website:
HD250HJ = 250GB = 1x250 platter, 8MB cache, SATA300
HD200HJ = 200GB = 1x250 platter, 8MB cache, SATA300

Samsung manager said,"samsung 1tb hdd use 333gb/platter".
1tb=3X333gb
1tb=3X333gb
Wow, now that's a bomb news!
At the first look this sounds like unbelievable but yes really this is possible... May-be really it was easier for Samsung to make a 3-platter drive on super-density platters than 4-platter drive on a bit less dense platters!
But interesting question how can they make the 750GB model of these 333GB platters then? The model code is HD752LJ where the "L" stands for 6 heads (like HD501LJ 500GB model). May-be 750GB model is still on 3x250GB platters (or may-be 3x333GB short-stroked)? However this 1TB drive has really unusual model code HD102UJ where "U" is not defined at all.
And now if I remember correctly from the not-so-long-ago press release about their newest 2.5" drives they talked about 160GB on 1-platter there (note - for 2.5" drives!). I just thought then it was some kind of mistake in text there... But now this sounds very true...

Question is, how long do these remain vaporware...
Not long I think so... As they are already listed in open databases of distributors and retailers (with real prices and details) this means they are coming in week or two (or may-be sometimes more later).
